As part of Paris Retail Week (12-14 September 2016) 5 tours taking in a selection of Parisian stores were proposed to attendees to discover “on their own” some remarkable retail innovations in parallel to the event: amazing, creative, elegant and innovative concepts integrating technology into the customer journey.

This selection, edited as a pocket guide, has been made by Cécile Delettré, founder of #IntFem and manager of strategic learning expeditions on marketing, Innovation, digital & Tech. She is also a regular contributor to this blog.

Tour#4 will make you discover the very classy neighbourhood of Place Vendôme.

Tour #4: Sentier – Place Vendôme

Nestled in a spot near the Grands Boulevards, the ‘Sentier’ is a neighbourhood in the 2nd district of Paris which has been historically known for its textile and garment manufacturing. Since the late 1990s, it has increasingly become home to start-up companies and thus acquired the nickname ‘Silicon Sentier’. It offers pleasant walks, sheltered under the various covered passages hosting shops, tearooms and restaurants. The nearby located Place Vendôme with its luxury stores gathering the world’s great jewelry brands offers one continuous stream of window displays filled with sparkling diamonds, rubies and emeralds.

15 – La Garçonnière 40 rue des Petits Carreaux, 75002 PARIS, Check location here

A Concept Store unique to Paris comprising a co-working space and an e-commerce site for designers. Originally designed as a temporary place, La Garçonnière has become a permanent boutique showcasing a male take on Art de Vivre. Located under the magnificent green wall of the Oasis d’Aboukir, the space exults the creative and disruptive French Touch.

This is the first boutique-apartment from this e-retailer which offers its customers a ‘cocoon’ in Paris in which they can discover the brand’s sensorial universe and its maternity fashion.
This point of sale welcomes its customers like friends and facilitates communication thanks to the proximity of the whole team working in the offices above. In store, 80 items are on display and access to 700 products from the website is possible by tablet.

The flagship store from Devialet, a start-up which has become a global success having won 57 awards. Devialet is housed in a building with an Art-Deco façade dating back to 1898. The experience during the visit is in keeping with the disruptive innovation of the Phantom speakers. Design and quality which have attracted the attention of Angela Ahrendts, VP Global Retail of Apple, resulting in Phantom being available in US Apple Stores.

 

18 – L’ Appartement Sezane 1 rue Saint Fiacre, 75002 Paris. Check location here

As a complement to the Sezane e-commerce website, a magnificent connected gallery/boutique. The layout of the products and the staging are very elegant. Purchases are made on computers or tablets with the option of home delivery or instore collection. A thoroughly appealing “Dolce Vita” spirit. This selective place also boasts a private cinema.

 

19 – Made.com 52 rue Etienne Marcel, 75002 Paris. Check location here

After London, Milan and Amsterdam, Made.com has just opened an 840 sqm connected space in Paris. This place is focused on innovation, design and digital. It invites customers to test the furniture, create a wish list thanks to tablets, place an order online or directly in the showroom. In an interactive space, projectors display on the walls photos of customers’ interiors uploaded on the participative and community platform Unboxed.

 

20 – Audi City 48 place du Marché Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris. Check location here

The fifth Audi City concept after London, Beijing, Berlin and Istanbul with its giant screens (powerwalls), digital tablets, Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets. This futuristic showroom is a blend of phygital and omnichannel. Customers can configure their vehicle at home with the aid of the QR code generated on Smartphone and reproduce it on the showroom walls.Audi City Paris is the only one to offer an Audi Intelligence Lounge.

 

21 – The Ritz Paris 15 place Vendôme, 75001 Paris. Check location here

After a four-year refurbishment programme costing 200 million dollars, the Ritz Hotel has just reopened and boasts five magnificent boutiques including the Chanel space. For 6 months, you can discover the capsule collection by Laure Heriard Dubreuil, founder and CEO of Webster, the famous fashion boutique housed in an Art Deco building in Miami, around the theme of travel. Code sent to the customer’s smartphone. The sales teams use tablets to advise the customers. Instore activities are offered such as Zumba classes on Saturdays in the fitness area.
